Hi Travelers,
Did you know that thru-hikers, weekend backpackers and day hikers across the globe shamelessly hit the trails in their birthday suits, hats, hiking boots and backpacks on Hike Naked Day, held on the Summer Solstice, June 21st.
Domestically, joyful groups of thru-hikers are drawn to the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail, mostly meandering on remote trails away from heavily trafficked areas so they can bare all with little risk of offending naturalists, certainly not naturists.
Admittedly, nude hiking is not for the faint of heart, nor for those who easily sunburn. It is however an all-natural celebration that in many areas globally, such as Stonehenge in England, thousands gather and let their body parts breathe freely, and maybe even do some maypole dancing too.
June 21st is also National Nude in Nature Day which gives you a great reason to visit your favorite lake or river to go skinny dipping or visit a nude beach, go canoeing in the nude or go on a nude hike with an organized group. Take advantage of this wonderful, almost primordial experience of being nude in nature.
Beyond Naked Hiking and Nature Day, free spirits can enjoy many outdoor pursuits in their birthday suits at clubs, resorts and campgrounds affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation. And mark your calendar for International Skinny Dip Day July 12th. To locate a club near you visit: https://www.aanr.com/club-locator/.
Naturally yours,
