Dear Travelers,

The pros and cons of Artificial Intelligence/AI seems to have taken over as the news topic of import in print, online, and over the air waves.  At the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), the preeminent authority and voice in North America, staunchly protecting the freedoms and rights of those who participate in wholesome, family-style nude recreation, members are monitoring the impact of AI as related to non-sexualized social nudity.

As with many technological innovations, abuses have sprung up.  Specifically, the “nudify tools,” AI apps and websites that can target and generate nonconsensual explicit images of unsuspecting individuals. There are also AI-generated harassing emails circulating about, making incendiary allegations about those participating in lawful naturist activities.

What’s so particularly disturbing is how accessible this technology is with just a few clicks. These AI tools are advertised directly on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Some are even available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Members of AANR promote respecting the human form by enjoying the freedom of clothes-free recreation in appropriate settings.  Our aim is to exorcise nudity taboos in order that more of us can experience higher levels of body positivity, self-esteem and life satisfaction.

Using nudifying tools on unsuspecting individuals is not right, not healthy, and certainly not contributing to the life satisfaction of the person being unceremoniously targeted via AI.

The right to privacy is as an inalienable right as that of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Which is why many common-sense regulations are in place at AANR-affiliated resorts and clubs that restrict the taking of photos, that remind visitors to respect others’ boundaries, and that reinforce the code that nudity is not erotic.

At AANR we say “no” to the use of nudifying tools and harassing AI emails.  Shouldn’t you too?

Naturally yours,
