SHED YOUR THREADS THIS JULY DURING NUDE RECREATION WEEK AND BEYOND
Int'l Skinny dip Day is just one aspect of Nude Recreation Week

Hi Travelers,

July is the most celebrated month among nudists.  It heralds in Nude Recreation Week, this year (its 47th) is July 7-13.  A highlight of which is International Skinny Dip Day (the second Saturday of the month) on July 12th.   July is also National Take a Nakation Month….a Nakation is a vacation to a nudist resort/campground. And globally National Nude Day is celebrated each July 14th.

Naturism is mentally and physically rewarding and enriching.  It emphasizes body positivity, self-acceptance for one’s exterior packaging, feeling liberated, and truly being one with nature. Enjoy these benefits in the privacy of your own home or visit a club/resort/campsite affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), offering safe and comfortable environments to relish the nudist experience.  Find a venue at https://www.aanr.com/club-locator/

For those looking to try Nakationing in the comfort of their own home, AANR recommends the following:

  • Cool off: skinny dip in your backyard pool
  • Make housekeeping fun: shed those clothes, turn on some music and get out the mop
  • Get in touch with nature: garden nude in the privacy of your back yard
  • Exercise in the buff: hit the treadmill or dust off one of the workout videos
  • Telecommuting in the nude: working from home, in the nude, is increasing in popularity!

But more about these special days. AANR’s Nude Recreation Week (July 7-13, 2025) gives first-timers a chance to shed stress by giving clothes-free recreation a try without the commitment of membership.

This annual celebration is open for individuals, couples and families to visit one of over 200 clothing-optional and clothes-free clubs affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation and The Naturist Society, to experience firsthand this growing trend in both travel and recreation.

On International Skinny Dip Day, the textile world can join with naturists and free themselves of their clothes and inhibitions by taking a dip au natural in their backyard pool, a secluded spot on a river or lake, at a sanctioned nude beach or at one of AANR’s 200 clubs and resorts throughout the U.S., Canada and internationally.

International Skinny Dip Day (ISDD) serves as the culminating event during National Nude Recreation Week, an AANR tradition for nearly 50 years.

This annual celebration is an opportunity for individuals and families to visit clothing-optional clubs affiliated with AANR or TNS, and experience firsthand a growing trend in both travel and recreation – the Nakation vacation. Many AANR-affiliated clubs have activities and events planned throughout the week – such as open houses, dance parties, sports tournaments, chili cook-offs, “bare buns fun runs,” health screenings, art shows, and more.

National Nude Day is celebrated on July 14 and serves to celebrate freedom and the aesthetics of the human body.  This holiday started in New Zealand and from there spread around the world where it’s observed in over 30 countries.

To get in tune with skinny-dipping, AANR has gathered a playlist of songs to put you in the mood:

  • Skinny Dipping by Sabrina Carpenter,
  • Green by Blake Shelton,
  • Skinny Dippin’ by Little Big Town,
  • Do it Like This by Chase Rice,
